[dropcap]R[/dropcap]ecently I was given the opportunity to review a wood watch made by JORD in St. Louis, MO. With the agreement to review I was provided a free Sully Black and Maple. JORD requested only an honest review which I am happy to give.
At the end of my review, you will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a free Sully Black and Maple (retail value $139.00 USD) like the one pictured below. One (1) winner will be selected with the prize fulfillment coming directly from JORD.
I confess to being a sucker for watches. It need not be a Rolex or Patek Philippe. Fossil, Timex, or Casio will do just fine. My daughter and son-in-law gave me a Skagen for Christmas in 2012 and I love it. I plan to add another Skagen in the coming months.
A recent addition is the JORD Sully Black and Maple.
I have been wearing the Sully Black and Maple for about three days. It is light, comfortable and very easy to read. The face and band are much larger than my sleek Skagen, but it wears easily and I have had no problem banging it against items in my environment while wearing it.
JORD is a St. Louis watch company dealing in watches made from wood. Most of the visible components are made from various types and colors of wood, the hands and glass being obvious exceptions.
The band on the watch I received was far too long for my wrist so I had to extract a couple of links to get the right fit. We had a set of small screwdrivers which did the trick, but a trip to a jeweler might be necessary for sizing otherwise.

JORD has made a beautiful and unique timepiece. So far I have no complaints, though I do not plan to wear it in heavy rain or when sweating is probable. It might be ok, but it is wood and will absorb moisture. I will not take the chance. It is on the “dress watch” side of time pieces. Do not plan to wear your JORD onto the ball field or construction site.
