Election Projection: October 7, 2020

In my previous projection, September 26, Vice-president Joe Biden held an Electoral College lead of 290–170 over President Donald Trump, enough to win the presidency. Following recent polling, I am moving Florida from too-close to the Biden column and Iowa from the Trump column to too-close. The majority of recent polls in the Sunshine State have Biden ahead outside the MoE. Georgia, Ohio, and North Carolina remain toss-ups. Iowa goes too-close, although the most recent Quinnipiac poll shows Biden up there by 5%, which is outside the MoE. The Democratic senate challenger in IA, Theresa Greenfield, leads incumbent Joni Ernst, but that race is also close.

The current projection is Joe Biden 319 to Donald Trump’s 164.
